The lies, all the lies that surround Haleigh’s disappearance over 8 months ago. The immediate lie began when Misty Croslin, the 17 year old babysitter claimed Haleigh as her own daughter on the 911 call, when Haleigh vanished into this air. Yet when we take a closer look, we see and hear a grieving father on the 911 call……….or do we?
Ronald Cummings spoke 18 words to the 911 operator before he mentions killing the person who is responsible for taking his daughter. 18 words that did not involve a description of his daughter, her age, her accurate weight, her hair color, her hair length, her distinguishing marks, her date of birth, her height, her weight, her clothing, nothing. Not even so much as her name. Ronald Cummings first words to the 911 operator were, ”I just got home from work, my five-year-old daughter is gone- I need someone here now.” The most important thing to Ronald Cummings was establishing his alibi to the 911 operator, first and foremost. “I just got home from work” next came the elusive and evasive description of Haleigh, his five year old daughter whom had vanished into thin air, “my five year old daughter is gone” no name, no description, just “his” five year old daughter. Yet, he let Misty carry on a full conversation that eluded to the fact that Misty was Haleigh’s mother. Why did Ronald not state “our daughter” as Misty had already established? Two different stories from the get-go. It is blatantly obvious he heard Misty telling the 911 operator that Haleigh was being described as ”our” daughter, yet when Ronald speaks to the 911 opeartor, he establishes that Haleigh is “his” daughter. The lies have begun immediatelyand both of them seem to go off script from the start, which ultimately resulted in the many inconsistencies le has referenced to time and time again.
The next line Ronald Cummings delivers to the 911 operator is, “if I find whoever has my daughter before you all do, I’m killing them…I don’t care- I will spend the rest of my life in prison….you can put that on the recording…I don’t care.” While Nancy Grace and others may believe this was the emotional mind of a grieving and upset father, I find this statement to be that of a man who has an extremely guilty conscience, one who is sending a subliminal message that he doesn’t care if he goes to prison for his participation in Haleigh’s disappearance, prison doesn’t scare him. Or so he states. Why would a man, a father, be bringing up prison and harming others when he does not know for certain if his daughter has been taken by a stranger at this point? How can he state that to his 17 year old girlfriend “how the f*** you let my daughter get stole, bitch?” in one breath and yet in the very next breath state he is going to kill whoever took his daughter? Ronald Cummings is busy blaming every one around him, yet the first sentence he blurts out to the 911 operator is that of giving himself an immediate alibi, he was at work. Covering his tracks with his alibi, pointing the finger in every direction except at himself.
The next question the 911 operator asks Ronald Cummings is what kind of pajama’s Haleigh was wearing. Instead of asking his 17 year old live in girlfriend what the child was wearing, he screams out “I don’t f****** know”. At this time, neither Ronald, nor Misty have made it clear to the 911 operator that they are not husband and wife and that Misty is not Haleigh’s Mother. The lies continue.
After the 911 operator talks to Misty about the door, Ronald again mentions prison, “they better bring f’ing something out here- because if I get my hands on that mother f’er I’m going to kill him…I don’t give a f%*)@# about prison…mother F’ing prison doesn’t scare me.” The continuous mention of prison should have been enough to make red flags appear like wildfire. Why the fascination w/prison? Why wouldn’t the focus, at this time, be on Haleigh and her whereabouts instead of the constant mention of prison and killing the person who has her? Wouldn’t your immediate thoughts be that of concern for your child and only your child?
When the 911 operator then asks what Haleigh’s date of birth is, Ronald again says, “I’m going to f’ing kill somebody” That is at least three times he has said he is going to kill someone in a matter of minutes. Does this not concern anyone? Is this truly the way a loving and caring father behaves when a child goes missing? Can we point to one other case on this planet where a parent has reacted this way on a 911 call concerning a lost/abducted child? Evasive answers, hanging up on 911 operators, threats, verbal abuse, avoiding giving any accurate details whatsoever? Allowing a 17 year old babysitter to make the 911 call to begin with? A 17 year old babysitter who is unable to answer the questions about Haleigh’s weight, date of birth, eye color, hair color, clothing description. A 17 year old babysitter who had previously been on a drug binge the weekend prior to Haleigh’s disappearance. What parent would allow that to happen? What parent would let a teenage babysitter give vital information to a 911 operator concerning the disappearance of their 5 year old daughter at 3:30 in the morning?
Finally, Ronald ends the 911 call with the following, “where is my f’ing phone…we’ve got better people to talk to then some mother f’ers who ain’t coming.” Who are these “better people to talk to” in regards to a missing 5 year old child? Superman? Wonder Woman? Batman? Exactly, which superhero did Ronald Cummings have in mind to speak with? Evidentally, these “better people to talk to” were none other than Lisa Croslin (Misty’s Mother), Teresa Neves (Ronald Cummings Mother) & Annette Sykes(Ronald Cummings Grandmother). Ronald claimed he had better people to “talk” to, yet he never once “talked” in the entire 911 call. He either cried, yelled, screamed or mumbled on the 911 call. He never once gave pertinent information to the 911 call. Rather, he accused his teenage girlfriend of letting his daughter get “stole” and sprinkled it with verbal abuse. On at least two occasions on the 911 call, he accused his teenage girlfriend, Misty Croslin with allowing his child to be taken out of his mobile home. The very next morning he dramatically changed his tune, lashing out at any reporter who even remotely questioned Misty’s involvement. Why?
It is my opinion that in order to find Haleigh, you must come full circle and find the answers in the original 911 calls. It is also my opinion that from these 911 calls, Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin hold every single answer pertaining to the whereabouts of Haleigh Cummings.
It has been stated that Ronald called Misty over 20 times that night. He called even called Misty’s brother. Why then, with such urgency played up on his part, would he stop after work to pick up two packs of cigarettes, two bags of peanuts and a can of beer? If he were truly as concerned as he seemed to be during his shift at work, why would he take his time getting home? Wouldn’t the urgency be higher by the time he clocked out of work? And, if he really was the caring and loving father that he claimed to be, why would he call Misty’s brother when he was unable to reach Misty? Misty afterall, was in charge of taking care of Ronald’s two children. Why wouldn’t Ronald call his Mother or his Grandmother if he was unable to check on the well being of his children? In Ronald’s own words, the “better people to call” while he was at work, should have been his Mother & Grandmother. Not Misty’s brother, Tommy.
Yes, Ronald’s behavior during this entire case has been mind numbing. The excuses extended on his behalf have been plentiful. However, the flat out lies that have been told, the mistruths that have been conjured up have been more than extreme and to a little 6 year old girl who is still missing, none of it has been fair nor has justice even remotely taken place.
